1992 NCAA, 1939 TO 1949 FINAL FOUR BASKETBALL CARD!!!
The 1939 NCAA Final Four Tournament involved eight schools playing in single elimination play to determine the NCAA Men’s Division 1 Basketball Championship. It was the first NCAA National Championship Tournament, although it was operated by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, NABC at the time.
Oregon, coached by Howard Hobson, won the national title with a 46 to 33 victory in the final game over Ohio State, coached by Harold Olsen. Jimmy Hull of Ohio State was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
In 1949, Kentucky, coached by Adolph Rupp, won the National Title with a 46 to 36 victory in the final game over Oklahoma A&M, coached by Henry Iba. Alex Groza of Kentucky was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
