Pop is The Ninth Studio Album by Irish Rock Band, U2, released on March 3rd., 1997, through Island Records. The Project represented the final chapter of The Band’s Experimental 1990s Era, blending their Traditional Rock Elements with Techno, Dance, Electronica and Alternative Rock.
The Album marked a drastic departure in production style for The Band, heavily incorporating Loops, Sampling, Sequencing and Programmed Drum Machines. Due to Drummer Larry Mullen Jr. undergoing major back surgery during the late 1995 Recording Sessions, much of the early work relied entirely on Electronic Drum Programming!!!
