The Ford Mustang SSP was a lightweight Police Car Package based on the Ford Mustang, produced by Ford from 1982 to 1993.

The Car was designed to offer Police Departments a faster alternative to the larger, heavier sedans available at the time. SSP stands for Special Service Package, a unique Fox Body Mustang trim built specifically for Law Enforcement. One of Ford’s catchy taglines for this model was, “This Ford Catches Porsches for a Living.”

The Mustang SSP featured Extra Equipment that wasn’t available to the general public. Some of these Special Additions Included: 325bhp 5.0 V8 Capable of 160 MPH.
