2021 McFARLANE TOYS, DREAD PIRATE ROBERTS ACTION FIGURE, MINT IN THE BOX!!!
R.I.P. Rob Reiner…
Westley, the Hero of The Princess Bride, was on a journey to seek his fortune when his ship was taken by the Dread Pirate Roberts, known for never leaving captives alive. Westley was presumed dead, but while others begged and bribed for their lives, he simply asked Roberts to “Please Not Kill Him”. Intrigued by the “please,” Roberts asked why he should make an exception? Westley explained his quest to earn enough to reunite with his true love, Buttercup, whose beauty so moved Roberts that he made Westley his Personal Attendant.
Though impressed with Westley’s work, Roberts kept his fate uncertain by saying each night, “Good night, Westley. Good work. Sleep well. I’ll most likely kill you in the morning.” After three years, they grew close, and Roberts promoted Westley to Second In Command. Soon after, Roberts revealed that “Dread Pirate Roberts” was just a title he had inherited, his real name being Ryan. The fearsome name kept sailors in such terror that ships surrendered instantly, avoiding what they believed to be certain death. As Roberts put it, no one would ever surrender to the Dread Pirate Westley”.
