Pete Shelley was an English Singer, Song Writer and Guitarist. He Co-Founded the Early Punk Band, The Buzzcocks with Howard Devoto in 1976, taking over as Lead Singer and Guitarist in 1977 after Devoto left. The Band’s biggest hit, Ever Fallen in Love With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve, came out in 1978. They broke up in 1981 but reunited at the end of the decade. Shelley also pursued a solo career, with his track Homosapien charting in Australia and Canada in 1981 and 1982.
The Single was a major success in Australia and Canada, breaking into the Top 10 in both countries, and saw modest success in New Zealand. While it didn’t make it onto the singles charts in Europe or the United States, it became a favorite in clubs across both regions, climbing to #14 on the Billboard Club Play Singles Chart.
