Pete Shelley was an English Singer, Songwriter and Guitarist. He formed the punk band, The Buzzcocks with Howard Devoto in 1976 and became the lead singer and guitarist in 1977 when Devoto left. The band broke up in 1981 and Shelley started his Solo Career. His song Homosapien became a Top 40 hit in Europe, Australia and Canada in 1981 and 1982.
In 1983 Shelley released his Second LP, XL1. Telephone Operator became a major hit. The album included a Computer Program for the ZX Spectrum Computer with Lyrics and Graphics that displayed in time to the music.
