Pete Shelley was an English Singer, Song Writer and Guitarist. He Co-Founded The Punk Band The Buzzcocks with Howard Devoto in 1976 and took over as Lead Singer and Guitarist in 1977 after Devoto’s departure. When the band split in 1981, Shelley launched his solo career, scoring a Top 40 hit in Europe, Australia, and Canada with his song “Homosapien” in 1981 and 1982.

In 1983, Shelley released his second LP, XL1, featuring The Hit Single, Telephone Operator. The album also came with A Computer Program for the ZX Spectrum Computer that Displayed Lyrics and Graphics that would Synchronize with The Music..
