VINTAGE 1986, CLARENCE CARTER, STROKIN’ 12 INCH E.P.!!!
Strokin’ is a song by Clarence Carter, featured on his 1986 album, Dr. C.C.. It spent an impressive 46 weeks on the New Zealand Music Charts and reached #2 on the 1990 Year End Chart.
Strokin’ was reportedly considered too Risqué for Public Release or Radio Play, so the Record Company opted to place it in Jukeboxes, where Bar Patrons came across it. The song gained further recognition when it appeared in Eddie Murphy’s remake of The Nutty Professor and more recently, in William Friedkin’s film, Killer Joe.
